A conference to promote legitimate office software was convened in Lhasa, the capital city of Tibet Autonomous Region, on 25 July.
When addressing the meeting, Ma Xinming, member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal People's Congress and also director of the city's Publicity Department, identified the office software legalization campaign in the municipal and county-level governmental authorities as a significant effort in fulfilling the requirements of 16th and 17th CPC National Congress on IPR protection. To enhance IPR, China has promulgated a series of laws and regulations and has also entered into several international treaties. In this context, an exemplary role demonstrated by governmental departments in software legitimization will definitely help to increase public awareness in this regard and maintain a positive national image in the global society.
According to Ma, Lhasa has outstood its counterparts by taking the lead in promoting software legitimization in the Autonomous Region, fully demonstrating its government's resolution and endeavor.
Ma urged relevant departments to value the training program specially designed by Kingsoft, a qualified and prestigious software provider which has won a great purchase order in the campaign from 70 national governmental departments and 24 provinces/municipalities.
Representatives from the exclusive distributor of Kingsoft in Lhasa also attended the meeting. [Chinese version is available on chinatibetnews.com]
