A joint enforcement action targeting shopping malls in Jinzhou of Liaoning Province was recently organized by the provincial intellectual property office.
The enforcement group, consisting of more than 50 officials from IPR offices in neighboring cities, inspected various commodities such as home appliances, food, toys and daily necessities and carefully recorded the names, manufacturers, agents and patent numbers of patented products. No serious violations such as selling fake patented goods were found during the investigation reportedly, but minor offenses including substandard use of patent marks were indeed uncovered with respect to some of the products.
After the inspection, the enforcement officials also went further to explain IPR knowledge to business operators involved and warned them against procuring any illegal goods to avoid injuring consumers' interests. [Chinese version is available on SIPO.gov.cn]
