On June 6, Guangdong Provincial Intellectual Property Office, Guangzhou Municipal Intellectual Property Office and the Intellectual Property Offices at district level joined hands with other departments including the public security, industry and commerce, drug supervision to launch joint action against counterfeits. Director of Guangdong Provincial Intellectual Property Office Tao Kaiyuan and Deputy Director Tang Yi and Director of Guangzhou Municipal Intellectual Property Office Wu Yuejing and Vice Director Deng Youman personally came to locality where crackdown upon counterfeits proceeded.
In the campaign, 270 law enforcers were deployed and 23 stores and 1 warehouse in 10 districts (county-level cities) were inspected. Over 1,500 pieces of food and drugs suspected of counterfeit patents. Besides, drugs and health products suspected of unlicensed certificates and several boxes of blank receipts bearing seal print of pharmaceutical enterprises were also found.
The joint law enforcement action also laid eyes on the shelters housing counterfeit patent products in order to cut off the sources of counterfeited products. [Chinese version is available on SIPO.gov.cn]
